Just a short note to express my great appreciation to your organization for hiring, training, and motivating a man like John Grady. Last Thursday, 40 minutes before casting off for Bermuda, Mr. Grady learned that my suitcase had been inadvertently unloaded from an airport shuttle van with the luggage of one of your passengers and had been already put on board. I explained by cell phone from the Ritz Carlton on Amelia Island that the suitcase had all my material and clothes for a very important presentation I had to make the next day to some of the most powerful men in the country. He explained it would be almost impossible to find a rather non-descript bag among some 1500 on board but that he would give it his best. He gathered a team and began going through the bags. Amazingly, he found it shortly before castoff – saving me an enormous amount of grief and embarrassment.
I know from some 60 years of experience, that virtually all others would have simply said it was impossible and refused to even try. But not your Mr. Grady. Although the odds were against him, he gave his best, and his best paid off. For me – big time! For him, he had only the satisfaction of knowing he had done his job well.
So again, my thanks to you, Mr. Grady, and your company. And by the way, the presentation went exceptionally well.
With warm personal regards,
Richard G. Scurry, The Bible Literacy Project
Dear Brenda, Walt, and Linda,
Wow, Bill and I are absolutely so proud of being part of the Number 1 Port in the U.S. once again. What wonderful welcome home news. Congratulations!Linda, with your calming direction, you continue to create a fine-tuned operation. Thank you so much.
Walt and Brenda, your consistent and professional training "in the beginning" laid the foundation for a great group of people and so easy to carry forward. We sincerely thank you for your support.
Now that I've dispensed with the "formalities" I need to tell you that I have just completed the last of the 269 e-mails that were waiting upon our arrival home from vacation. I didn't get to the best one dated January 17th till a little while ago. Did enjoy the video -- great job, may mean future job offers. Just think, the No. 1 Port has broken ground in promoting their enthusiasm in motion -- what a PR tool!
I do want to share that Bill and I cruised on Radiance of the Seas from Miami on January 15th. (Loved every minute of the cruise.) Waiting while Bill parked the car I chatted (of course) with another cruiser and in the course of conversation we shared where we came from. She being from Hilton Head; when I said "Jacksonville Beach" she said the best experience she and her husband have ever had (and she is a frequent cruiser) was departing on Zenith (which by the way was in St. Marten when we arrived). Voluntarily, she not being aware that I worked at the Port, she went on to say that leaving from Miami was a nightmare, loved the conveniences we provide at JAXPORT, i.e., parking where you can see your vehicle, friendliness of staff upon arrival, entering the terminal, checking in. Absolutely glowing remarks!
I, of course, could not contain my enthusiasm and shared with her that Bill and I worked at the Port. When her husband arrived from the parking garage, not knowing our conversation, this lady told him I was from JB, and he proceeded to echo her sentiments.
Bill and I are really excited to be back and get to work in the morning and see everyone again.
Again Congratulations! -- Bill and I truly are so proud to be a part of such a fantastic group of men and women.
Regards to all,
Pat
Walt,
I just wanted to let you know that Linda gave us the first class treatment. Way above what I expected. The JAX facility is really nice, good location with parking near by and a beautiful building. From what little I saw (because we were in and out so fast) Linda does an exceptional job. Of course you already know this.Again, let me THANK YOU for the courtesy.
